No Man Is An Island

Hey guys!

I’ve been a bad little bloggy friend. I haven’t really blopped or done anything. No particular reason for it, except I’ve been playing alot on FB and less on BS and Twitter. I’ll try to do better, I’m following so many interesting blogs, and now that I’m so far behind, it’s like I’ll never get caught up!

Anyway, I taught my first Safety Culture class as a certified instructor the day before yesterday. I think it went really well. There are some people who are completely against the process, and that was forseen. It’s still difficult when there is dissention though, as I really believe in the process, not only for safety but as a philosophical way of life.

In addition, I found out the other day that one of the other certified trainers, one that I spent two weeks with in Denver for the train-the-trainer courses is currently bad-mouthing the way we’re progressing with the Safety Culture roll-out. That is also disconcerting to me, how are we to expect other’s to keep an open mind when one of the trainers won’t even do it. It’s very frustrating. I’ll keep ya’ll abreast of how things are shaking down on that front, as I’m sure you’re waiting with bated breath for the information on the outcome. 🙂

and now … for the REST of the story!

ஜ~§Quote of the Day§~ஜ

He who laughs most, learns best.
John Cleese

ஜ~§The Question Of The Day§~ஜ

What is your personal motto or favorite quotation?

My personal favorite motto is: Two things are infinate, the univers and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former. (Einstein)

Keep in mind folks, I love it when you answer this question in comments, but feel free to expand upon any of my questions of the day in your own blogs, if it suits you. (love and light)

ஜ~§The Word Of The Day§~ஜ

Mug’s Game

(mugz gaym)

noun: A foolish or futile activity.

From mug (slang for a fool), from Scandinavian word mugg/mugge (drinking cup). In earlier times drinking cups were adorned with grotesque faces, which resulted in the various senses of the word, nouns (face, dupe, thug) and verbs (to assault, to make faces, to photograph).

“‘Because we’re dealing with so many unknowns, forecasting is an absolute mug’s game at present,’ says Westpac chief economist Brendan O’Donovan.”

ஜ~§What I’m Reading§~ஜ

Jewels of the Sun and Opposites Attract, both by Nora Roberts.

ஜ~§What I’m Watching§~ஜ

Tonight is: TV Catchup night. Last night BSG was freaking amazing again. I had stated that Ghost Whisperer, Flashpoint, and Numb3rs was on my radar for last night, but they were re-runs, so I don’t have too much catching up to do. 🙂

ஜ~§Poem Of The Day§~ஜ

No man is an island

No man is an island entire of itself; every man
is a piece of the continent, a part of the main;
if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe
is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as
well as any manner of thy friends or of thine
own were; any man’s death diminishes me,
because I am involved in mankind.
And therefore never send to know for whom
the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

John Donne

ஜ~§Recipe of the Day§~ஜ

Ginger Glazed Mahi Mahi

3 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger root
1 clove garlic, crushed or to taste
2 teaspoons olive oil
4 (6 ounce) mahi mahi fillets
salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon vegetable oil

In a shallow glass dish, stir together the honey, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, ginger, garlic and olive oil. Season fish fillets with salt and pepper, and place them into the dish. If the fillets have skin on them, place them skin side down. Cover, and refrigerate for 20 minutes to marinate.

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove fish from the dish, and reserve marinade. Fry fish for 4 to 6 minutes on each side, turning only once, until fish flakes easily with a fork. Remove fillets to a serving platter and keep warm.

Pour reserved marinade into the skillet, and heat over medium heat until the mixture reduces to a glaze consistently. Spoon glaze over fish, and serve immediately.

Yield: 4 servings

Brightest Blessings,

Hi! Long time, no keyboard-pound! (Me, too, I’m afraid. Just haven’t have a large enough smitch of time to do both: blog and blop.) Always love your entries, though– good to hear from you!One of my favorite quotes comes from Mr. Al as well: “Coincidence is God’s way of remaining anonymous.” Roseanne Barr has some zingers I go for, too, but for some reason, it doesn’t seem right to put her words of wisdom in the same Comment Box as Einstein’s.

I love quotes period lol any of them..I guess my current favorite is I believe everything happens for a reason.People change so that you can learn how to let go. Things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right. You believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together. –Marilyn Monroe 🙂 I posted this once with a picture of her lol but it feels right to me and so I love it ♥

Thanks for following. Glad to see you back. Having a multi-post makes up for being out in my book.
