Move Eastward, Happy Earth

August 23, 2009

Not much to banter about today, tomorrow I’ll tell you the story of my ‘political row’ with a fellow chatter and his ending argumentative statement, it was quite enlightening and unbelievably funny. Yesterday at work we had a food day — which we do nearly every three months or so — it was an excellent Fajita Night!!! I’m going to suggest we do it again next year on the Fifth of May. Makes more sense to do it then, as it’s Mexican or spanish themed and all. Here’s a funny for you today … (I apologize for the caps … but I was too lazy to retype the thing.)

THE POTTY

A LITTLE THREE YEAR OLD BOY IS SITTING ON THE TOILET. HIS MOTHER THINKS HE HAS BEEN IN THERE TOO LONG, SO SHE GOES IN TO SEE WHAT’S UP. THE LITTLE BOY IS GRIPPING ON TO THE TOILET SEAT WITH HIS LEFT HAND AND HITTING HIMSELF ON TOP OF THE HEAD WITH HIS RIGHT HAND.

HIS MOTHER SAYS: “BILLY, ARE YOU ALL RIGHT? YOU’VE BEEN IN HERE FOR A WHILE. BILLY SAYS: “I’M FINE, MOMMY… I JUST HAVEN’T GONE ‘DOODY’ YET.”

MOTHER SAYS: “OK, YOU CAN STAY HERE A FEW MORE MINUTES. BUT, BILLY, WHY ARE YOU HITTING YOURSELF ON THE HEAD?”

BILLY SAYS: “WORKS FOR THE KETCHUP.”

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Move Eastward, Happy Earth

Move eastward, happy earth, and leave
Yon orange sunset waning slow:
From fringes of the faded eve,
O, happy planet, eastward go:
Till over thy dark shoulder glow
Thy silver sister world, and rise
To glass herself in dewey eyes
That watch me from the glen below.

Ah, bear me with thee, lightly borne,
Dip forward under starry light,
And move me to my marriage-morn,
And round again to happy night.

Alfred Lord Tennyson
